Paintball Arena presents: Open Airsoft Event – Dark Ops
Date: Saturday 21/11/2026 | 16:00 – 23:00
Location: Domein De Plas – Houthalen-Helchteren
Capacity: max. 35 players
Gear: own equipment only, tracer unit mandatory – no rental kits at evening events
When the sun goes down, Dark Ops begins. Two teams, one 10,500 m² field and tracers cutting through the dark. Tactical play, varied scenarios and non-stop action from sunset until 23:00.
Why only 35 spots? For Dark Ops we deliberately play on a single field instead of our usual three combined fields (23,000 m² in total). That way we can keep the terrain safely lit in places. Sign up early to secure your spot.
Dark Ops is for players with their own gear: we don't rent out kits at evening events. New to airsoft? Join one of our Day Ops events first – rental kits are available there.
Arrival & shuttle service
Parking is only allowed at the large car park at the entrance of the domain. Player vehicles are not allowed on the terrain itself. We run a shuttle service to take your gear to the playing field.
Shuttle times: 16:00 – 16:25 – 16:50
17:00 = gate closes. After this time, no players or equipment will be admitted, no exceptions.
Important: all your equipment — replicas, holsters, tactical gear and everything except the clothes you're wearing — must be transported in a closed bag. A public footpath runs alongside the terrain; walkers must never be disturbed or confronted with visible replicas or military equipment. Nothing may be worn or carried visibly outside the designated zones.
Players who want to leave early are of course free to do so, but must arrange the transport of their gear back to the car park themselves. Please let the organisation know before you leave, so we know who is still on the field in the dark.

Game rules
Standard airsoft rules apply, with the following additions:
Hits: Call “HIT!” loud and clear, raise your hand where everyone can see it and switch your light-up armband to flashing straight away.
Dead men don't speak: Eliminated players don't communicate, except to call “Dead man!” so other players know you're out.
Weapon switch: A hit on your primary takes it out of play. You may continue with your sidearm.
Knife kills: Silent elimination. Gently tap your opponent on the shoulder with a dummy knife.
Headshots: Avoid aiming at the head, unless the head is the only visible body part.
Blind fire: Prohibited. You must always have your own line of sight on your target.
Within 5 metres: Not prohibited for AEGs or sidearms, but use common sense or call “BANG” instead of shooting. If you do have to shoot, avoid painful or sensitive areas and hit no more than once.
Buildings: Shooting from buildings is semi-auto only.
Team identification: You get a light-up armband in your team colour from us: Red (right arm) or Blue (left arm). It stays on constantly during play; when you're hit, switch it to flashing until you're back in the game. Marshals wear a yellow armband.
Tracers, lights & visibility
Dark Ops is played after sunset, so these extra rules apply on top of the game rules:
Tracers (mandatory): Your primary must have a working tracer unit, also if it's a pistol – that's what Dark Ops is all about. A tracer on your sidearm is not required.
Torches & weapon lights: Allowed, including strobe mode. Never deliberately shine a light into someone's eyes at close range.
Night vision & thermal: On your helmet or handheld: allowed, as long as the device has no mount for fitting it to a replica. Devices with such a mount (e.g. a rail) are prohibited weapons in Belgium: leave them at home.
Lasers: Prohibited, including laser pointers and infrared lasers. A laser with a mount for your replica (also inside a PEQ box or weapon light) is a prohibited weapon in Belgium, so don't bring one, not even switched off. Dummy laser boxes without a working laser are fine.
Clothing: Late-November evenings are cold. Dress warmly and in layers.
Please note: Dark Ops is played with flashing armbands and strobe lights. If you're sensitive to flashing light or have epilepsy, don't take risks, come to our Day Ops.
Joule limits & chrono
All replicas are tested before the start. Your tracer unit stays mounted during the test, in the setup you'll play with. The maximum BB weight is 0.46 g BIO; this applies to tracer BBs too.
AEG / Support: 1.2 J, minimum 5 m
DMR Class 1: 1.7 J, minimum 20 m, semi only
DMR Class 2: 2.3 J, minimum 20 m, semi only + 2 sec. delay
Sniper (bolt action): 2.3 J, minimum 20 m
Eye protection
Eye protection is mandatory and must meet at least the EN-166F standard. No exceptions. Anyone who removes their eye protection on the field will be excluded immediately.
Participants under 18 must wear a full-face mask.
Extra important at night: use clear lenses, because tinted lenses leave you nearly blind in the dark. Bring good anti-fog too: goggles fog up fast on a cold November evening, and taking them off on the field is still not allowed.
Field boundaries & safe zone
Field boundaries
The playing field is a closed-off zone within Domein De Plas. The boundaries are clearly marked. It is not allowed to:
Go outside the marked playing field
Shoot over barriers or nets
Move objects on the field or use them as a shield, unless indicated otherwise
Safe zone
The safe zone is a safe space to prepare your replicas or take a break. In the safe zone it is prohibited to:
Insert magazines into your replica
Fire or dry-fire
Connect HPA. Only connect on the field, and disconnect before returning to the safe zone.
Use common sense and don't stay in the safe zone longer than needed during the rounds.
Pyros, smoke & grenades
Pyros and thunderflashes: Prohibited
Smoke grenades: Enola Gaye smoke grenades are allowed, unless it's too dry or hot (fire risk)
BB grenades: Allowed, as long as they don't make a loud bang
TAG rounds or products above 95 dB: Prohibited
Age limits
18+: Free to participate
16–17: Written consent from a parent/guardian required (bring the signed consent form)
14–15: Written consent and presence of a parent/guardian required (bring the signed consent form)
Full face protection is mandatory for all participants under 18.
